This hidden art gallery in Logan Heights, San Diego is in my top 5 favorite places EVER. You would never guess how much talent is in this area just by looking at it. Barrio Logan-Logan Heights has easily made it’s way into my choice of interests lately. The streets of Logan are decorated with street art and vibrant colors, all expressing the love for Latin culture. Adding to the art-friendly neighborhood, this mysterious abandoned building will have you in awe and leave you with an impression you’ll never forget. Even on their website you will see they do not provide much information or photos, but don’t be alarmed, it is very much legit and very much worth seeing for yourself. Fortunately, I was able to discover and pay a visit at a perfect time for Por Que No Eres Una Nina Normal? and From The Second World.

Right now, they are showcasing a power couple from Tijuana, Mexico (read “A Very Blue Mexico” post to see my favorites of Tijuana and Rosarito). Panca and her husband Saulo Cisneros are dominating the Bread & Salt space with both very different and unique styles. Panca, as seen below, works with lots of bright colors and most of her work presents some form of girl power. Saulo on the other hand is a photographer and has been working with video for the past 5 years. His work is all based in Tijuana, showing the many faces of the energetic city. I was really drawn to Saulo’s in the moment photographs, he did a wonderful job at really bringing out the different characteristics of Mexico.

If you are interested in viewing, you still have time! The showcases end June 16th but don’t waste too much time. There’s nothing better than fresh art! The hours of business at Bread & Salt are Monday thru Friday 11 am to 4 pm. And what’s even better is that it’s free! It is also connected to other exhibits like Athenaeum, who also offer many different art classes and activities. Feel free to pick up flyers you see around the exhibits, you never know, you might just find yourself at the next ceramics class.

Don’t waste time, check out Bread & Salt, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve linked the artists instagrams below, check them out and give them a follow.
